Andrea Polo Galante

Andrea Galante has been working at Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations since 2014. Currently she is a project coordinator in the Food and Nutrition Division. She is a senior nutrition expert with experience in Brazil and internationally, dedicated to the understanding of the global nutrition landscape. Ms. Galante has extensive experience in leading nutrition-sensitive interventions, including food value chain for nutrition and home-grown school feeding programmes. Before joining FAO, Ms. Galante was the president of the Brazilian Nutrition Association, managed a graduation and master’s degree program in nutrition at a private Brazilian university, and worked closely with the renowned Brazilian government's initiative to combat hunger. In all these positions, she coordinated research projects.  In addition, she coordinated the South-South cooperation projects in school feeding programmes with countries in Africa and Latin America. Ms. Galante holds master’s degrees in Administrative Management and Applied Human Nutrition, as well as a PhD in Applied Human Nutrition.
